The UK will soon have more pensioners than teenagers, so it should come as no surprise that hospitals and care homes are a high priority or developers. “For the first time in the UK history, this decade will see the number of people aged 65 and over outnumber those under 16.”

That trend will continue, and it is expected that by 2021 there will be 1.2 people over 65 for every person under 16.
